Alice Hooper

1875 -

Alice is the daughter of Henry George Hooper and Ellen Stent. Alice is a missing person after 1901. Despite extensive research we have found no trace of her in marriage records, death records, emigration records, and census records. She quite literally disappears. The last record we have seen of her is the 1901 census when she was a visitor to the Bigge family in Hackney., a married couple with several children. The Bigge family ended up in the Hackney workhouse, and there is no sign of Alice being with them. We know that she was alive in 1906 because she received a share of Alfred's estate when he died. But after that - nothing. There are several different records which identify  a person named Alice Hooper, such as electoral rolls - but without other evidence such as age, place of birth, or other family members it's impossible to say that it's her.

So for the time being her fate is unknown.

It's  not uncommon for this to happen - sometimes people just disappear from the records. The page on Nancy Hooper is another good example.
